Nantucket Yoga Festival July 12- 14!


The second annual Nantucket Yoga Festival is July 12-14.  In just two weeks 20 of the top yoga and wellness instructors will be coming to the island to share their knowledge.

The festival kicks off on Friday evening July 12 with a celebration at The Westmoor Club.  It is a one of a kind evening with great local food, live music and performances by Dr. Dreaming Bear Baraka Kanaan, YogaSlackers and performance painter Dana Wilde.  Who is Dreaming Bear?  What is a Slacker?  Find out what makes these performers so special on opening night.

Workshops begin on Saturday July 13 at 8 am under tent at Bartlett's Ocean View Farm.  Sri Dharma Mittra starts the day with an all levels workshop called Maha Shakti. Sri Dharma has been teaching in New York City for more than 40 years.  He is a legendary yoga master and a true teacher's teacher.  Interested in Yogic Philosophy?  Restorative Yoga? Want to learn how to create your best day ever?  There are 35 different workshops to choose from throughout the weekend.

 In addition to the visiting instructors many of Nantucket’s beloved instructors will be leading classes. Shannah Green, Clay Twombly, Bettina Broer, Susan Browne, Caitlin Marcoux, Paul Bruno, Sheri Perelman, Joan Alison Stockman and more will be offering FREE community classes. These classes take place on Saturday and Sunday from 12:45 – 1:45 pm and are open to all.

Also open to the public is a fantastic marketplace featuring a sampling of services from Nantucket’s best wellness practicioners.  Get a massage with Casey Boukus, an Ayurvedic assessment with Sheri Perelman or an Astrology reading with Joanne D’amours.  More than 30 vendors will be showcasing a wide variety of wares. Raffle tickets benefitting the Nantucket Boys and Girls Club will also be sold in the marketplace.
