Coco Chanel meets Chico the Chihuahua
Fashion Goes to the Dogs. . . for a Cause
You don’t want to miss this! Nantucket Safe Harbor for Animals presents its 2nd Annual Pause for the Cause “Dressed to the K-9’s” dog fashion show Tuesday, August 4th, under the stars at Bartlett’s Farm. This year, twenty canine contestants will team up with a downtown business to create an over-the-top avant garde canine fashion statement. A piece of art, a textile, a book, or a vintage ensemble will inspire the couture for the runway. Think Coco Chanel meets Chico the Chihuahua. If you’ve seen the show before, you know the lengths to which the contestants go to win “top dog.”
Lulu Powers, “The Entertainologist,” best-selling author and entertaining designer, will be on hand to judge the contestants as will our own Nantucket author and dog-lover, Margaret Hallowell, who brought us The Dogs of Nantucket.
A farm-to-table dinner will be served for 100 surrounded by the Bartlett’s Farm flora and twinkly lights all under Nantucket’s own unmatchable night sky. If you’d rather, just show up for dessert and the show. Either way, signature cocktails like the “Muttini” will be available as well as the always-popular silent auction and a live auction featuring five exclusive packages that you’ll definitely want to raise your paddle for!
This is a fun, funny, festive event, unlike any other on Nantucket, and all proceeds go to help care for the homeless animals at Nantucket Safe Harbor for Animals.
