Daffy Dog Parade - Volunteers Needed

It's almost that time again Nantucket - our annual Daffodil Weekend!  Spring is all around us and those cheerful yellow daffodils give us reason for hope. Our off island friends come back to celebrate the kick off of the season with us, with picnics and parties all around.  An annual tradition not to be missed  is the Daffy Dog Parade.  If you haven't seen it yet, it is one of the cutest parades ever!

All friendly, leashed dogs are welcome to participate but must be registered before the parade begins.  Registration will be at the corner of Federal and Main Streets from 10 am - 12 pm, with the parade begining at 12:30 pm (please see parade map).  We will award a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize to doggy participants and they will be listed by the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce in all official print material.  There is a suggested donation of $5 to register, all proceeds benefiting Nantucket Safe Harbor for Animals.

We can't do this alone - please consider volunteering an hour or two of your time to make the Daffy Dog Parade a success!  Registration volunteers are needed to help sign up participants - one hour shift from 10-11am or 11am-12pm.  We also need Parade Directors, to keep the parade flow moving along it's route, from 12:15-1pm.  If you would like to join in the fun, please send an email to NSHA.  Volunteering at shelter events is a great way to help our homeless animals. Thank you everyone, and Happy Daffy!
