Blessing of the Animals

The Reverend Gary Klingsporn, Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church will do a Blessing of the Animals at 10:00 am New Year's Day.  The Blessing will take place outside the front doors of the church located at 62 Centre Street. This tradition is based on the life and love of St. Francis of Assisi, who cared for all animals.  Wednesday's blessing is non-denominational and invites all leashed and friendly pets to attend.  Smaller pets should arrive in their crates/cages.  Donations are gratefully accepted and will directly benefit Nantucket Safe Harbor for Pets and CATTRAP Nantucket.  During this time (10am-12pm), the Church Tower will also be open for viewing.  We wish all pets a happy and healthy new year and hope to see our homeless pets placed in loving homes for 2014!
