Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

October is officially Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month!  At Nantucket Safe Harbor, we have two fantastic dogs available for adoption.  Please consider opening your home to a deserving pet.  If you'd like to fill out an adoption form for either dog listed below, you can download it HERE.  Adoption fee is $250 and includes all vaccinations, spay/neuter and a gift bag with food & treats!  This is well below veternarian costs if you were to pay it yourself.  There are so many reasons to adopt a shelter dog, but most important is the loving gratitude you'll receive for years to come because you have saved a life!  If you're unable to adopt at this time but still want to help us celebrate Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog month, here is a list on of little ways to pitch in.

Quazar (first photo) is a bundle of energy! At 2 years old she loves to have fun and play ball! Q is a mix of Rottweiler and Blue Heeler, weighing at around 40 pounds. She prefers an active family with older children who can take her for the walks and play with her, fine with other dogs too. Q would make a great hiking companion, frisbee catcher and all around team player :)  She's very loving, non-agressive and about as friendly as they come!

Precious (second photo) Well her name says it all... This sweet girl came in as a stray and though her history is a mystery, it's clear she had fallen on some hard times. Precious is approx. 4- 6 yrs old, cattle dog mix and will benefit from a patient, dog experienced owner. She is learning to love leashed walks and accepting affection. Precious remains timid around men but is advancing every day. Make an appt to meet Precious, she will amaze you.
