Nantucket Clean Team veteran Dr. Sarah Oktay caught in the act of cleaning Codfish Park.

The Nantucket Clean Team NEEDS you this weekend!

Do you clean your house before the cleaning crews comes every time? Are you one of those people who completely rinses your dishes off before putting them in the dishwasher? Does the sight of trash strewn all over Nantucket make you cringe?

If you answered yes to all three questions, the Nantucket Clean Team wants to meet you. A band of obscessed trash pickeruppers, the Nantucket Clean Team, led by founder and seasonal Polpis resident Bill O'Connell, meets every Saturday at different locations around the island to pick up trash for one hour, 8-9am.

This weekend is a special one, it being the Fourth of July and all, so they really, really, need your help. Below is Bill's schedule from his weekly email to his minions and for those potential new recruits.

"Join us this Saturday for just one hour (and come on Sunday as well):
    1.  In Town at 8:00 a.m. at the Stop & Shop Parking Lot; and
    2.  Milestone Road at Nobadeer Farm Rd. – also (as always) at 8:00 a.m.  Plenty of trash for all.
But on Sunday, July 5th, at 8:00 a.m., we all convene on Nobadeer Beach to be sure our guests respected that beach and its dunes.
Drive down Nonantum and bend along the dirt road (Nobadeer) until it ends.
Be part of the solution."

Get out there and clean!
