Gray seals on Great Point.

Shark Expert Dr. Gregory Skomal speaking Anglers Club

Learn about the interaction and impacts of grey seals and white sharks in our waters

The man who knows sharks and what they eat in our waters, lately, that seems to include gray seals off Chatham, Mass. and probably off Nantucket, Dr. Gregrory Skomal, is going to be speaking at the Nantucket Anglers Club Tuesday, July 23 at 5 p.m. Senior Fisheries Biologist with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, Dr. Skomal has been tracking the resurgence of great white sharks in the waters of Nantucket Sound and just outside of it since 1987. He's paid particular attention to the large population of gray seals frequenting the Chatham area and the many white sharks that are feeding on these seals during the warmer months of the year, so he'll likely have lots of interesting things to say about what Nantucket can expect in terms of white sharks in Nantucket waters.
