Concert to celebrate NHA's new Steinway! 7/15, 7 pm

The NHA Unveils a Newly-restored 1925 Steinway

Nantucket, MA  — The Nantucket Historical Association proudly unveils a newly donated and restored 1925 Steinway baby grand model “L” piano.

In celebration of this gift, please join the NHA for a night of musical revelry as guests Anne and Christopher Acker of PianoGrands delight the audience with piano restoration tales and historic music. July 15th, doors will open at 6:45 p.m., the program begins at 7 p.m. at the Whaling Museum, 13 Broad Street. $5 suggested donation.

“We see this amazing gift of a completely restored Steinway not only as the gift of a piano but also as an eloquent example of just how dedicated people are to the NHA and its mission,” said William Tramposch, Executive Director of the Nantucket Historical Association. “While the piano will sit and be used in our grand Gosnell Hall at the Whaling Museum, we see it as a gift to the entire community of Nantucket, a community most fortunate to have so many young and budding pianists.”

The 1925 Steinway baby grand model “L” was contributed to the NHA by Barbara Burhorn Van Suetendael and Bobbie Van Suetendael Helbig. The restoration of the piano was contributed by Chris and Anne Acker of PianoGrands.
