How Are You Today?
Today’s challenge is simple and you may already know of or engage in it everyday, 'Checking In'. No this is not what we're all doing on our iPhones when we walk into whatever establishment. You’re not going to become the Mayor of The Boarding House in this instance. This ‘checking in’ has to do with yourself. Do you notice that when a friend asks you “How are you doing?” there is a slight pause. Even if you’re thinking of giving the polite answer of , “I’m well.” That pause is essential. It is allowing a moment away from where ever you are currently. Life is busy, hectic and can be all consuming. Each of us, through-out the day, should take a moment to ourselves and ask a simple question, “How am I doing?”
Checking in is simple but can help to make or break our day. If one is able to recognize that they are not doing well, then they have a chance to turn it all around. “Each passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.” – Vanilla Sky. That quote from the movie Vanilla Sky has stayed with me over the years. I know it to be true. We all can change our days around...I know yesterday I was in need of some happy thoughts...
So, How are you doing today?
A simple trick to turn your day from negative to positive…Have a list of your favorite things or what some call, Mood Changers.
