Eco-poetics

UMass Boston

UMass Boston’s Nantucket Semester begins on Monday, January 21, 2013. The nineteen students including two Nantucket students will be obtaining 16.00 hours of credit in an environmental studies program that features four different classes in three week "sprint" segments. Students will also do independent research throughout the course of their semester here on island. The first course will be Eco-poetics which I’ll be teaching.  I’ll be bringing in noted poets as guest lecturers like Regie Gibson, Elizabeth Bradfield, and Richard Cambridge, as well as The Duende project (see link below) who’ll feature as part of Spoken Word Nantucket’s February 3 show which will be held at the Nantucket Atheneum (www.nantucketatheneum.org) from 2-4 PM .  Check out the "Nantucket poem" in the link below.
