Take a Chance and Bid!
The Nantucket Chronicle is proud to be sponsoring a wreath for the annual Festival of Wreaths! What could be more fitting for a news media outlet "by Nantucketers, for Nantucketers" than to support the Nantucket Historical Association through its event celebrating the creativity of Nantucket residents, through wreaths designed by Nantucketers. The Festival of Wreaths is not only a celebration of creativity but also raises money for the Nantucket Historical Association. The design of the Nantucket Chronicle Wreath references the Chronicle's sea captain branding, using white lacquered magnolia leaves coated in marine paint, with marine-like navy accents.
The bidding kicked off last week at the NHA's Opening Preview Party, marking the start of the island's winter holiday season. The auction and exhibit continues through this weekend, and it's a wondeful opportunity to enjoy more than eighty beautifully decorated wreaths in the Whaling Museum. I urge you to stop by and take a chance to win one of the eighty beautifully crafted wreaths created by members of the Nantucket community and on display.
The wreaths will be on display Wednesday through Saturday (Nov. 25, 27-28) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. Admission is free and the festival is handicapped accessible. The silent auction will be ongoing for the entire festival, which allows you to return to your favorite wreaths as often as you like and increase your bid. Winners will be announced on the final day of the festival, shortly after 2 p.m. You don't have to be present to win.
